Ride For Hope Route - 2013
The Ride for Hope Staging Area is located on Bayfront Park – a beautiful, spacious community open space on the sea in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera. The youngest participants have a gentle 3-mile round trip from Bayfront Park, on to Cupid’s Cay, and back. Enthusiastic youngsters and other participants can do the Kids' Loop as many times as they want!
All other participants will leave the Staging Area and head south along Queen’s Highway to South Palmetto Point, a little over 8 miles away. The route bears left and then north along stunning Banks Road where participants will have easy cycling conditions and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Banks Road Loop – a 10-mile journey - will bring everyone back to the junction with Bayfront Park.
All participants going more than 10 miles repeat the Banks Road Loop for a second time.
After two Banks Road Loops, the course heads north onto Queens Highway and extends from Governor’s Harbour to Glass Window. This is our Queen’s Highway Loop. Along the way there are support tents at the Governor's Harbour Airport, Big Rock, Gregory Town, and Glass Window.
The North Eleuthera Loop takes Century Riders only from Glass Window to White Crown Aviation at the North Eleuthera Airport - the site of the first three editions of the Ride for Hope. Our old friends at White Crown Aviation will be excited to welcome RFH 100-milers to their facility again!
Participants should think carefully about their choice of mileage. Plan and ride accordingly to ensure a safe and enjoyable day!
